Clever Girl and the Secret Name — scene 1

Once upon a time, in a beautiful German castle with tall stone towers and golden flags, there lived a clever young woman. Everyone called her Clever Girl because she could solve any puzzle and figure out any problem. But one day, the castle lord gave her the most impossible task anyone had ever heard of. He led her to a special spinning room filled with piles and piles of golden straw. The straw reached almost to the ceiling! You must spin all this straw into gold by morning, he said, or you will be in terrible trouble. Clever Girl looked at the enormous piles of straw and felt her heart sink. She knew how to spin wool into thread, but straw into gold? That seemed impossible! But Clever Girl was brave and determined. She sat down at the spinning wheel, picked up a handful of straw, and said to herself, I will not give up. There must be a way to solve this problem. Even though the task seemed impossible, she began to think and plan, because that is what clever people do when they face big challenges.
