How Rabbit Stole Fire
Ages 4–5 9 min
Once upon a time, in a deep forest far away, winter came early and stayed too long. The snow fell thick and white, covering every tree and bush. The wind blew cold and sharp, making all the forest animals shiver and shake. Rabbit huddled close to Bear and the other animals, but they had no fire to keep them warm. Their breath made little white clouds in the freezing air. The animals pressed together under the bare branches, trying to share what little warmth they had. But it was not enough. Their paws were cold, their noses were cold, and their hearts were heavy with worry. How would they survive this terrible winter without fire to warm them?
