Maui and the Sun

Once upon a time, in the beautiful islands of Polynesia, there lived a brave hero named Maui. Every morning, Maui would wake up and watch the sun race across the sky so fast that it barely gave the people time to do their work. The fishermen could not catch enough fish, the farmers could not tend their crops, and the children could not play outside for very long. Maui saw how sad this made everyone. The sun would zoom from one side of the sky to the other like a golden bird in a hurry, leaving everyone wishing for more daylight. Maui heart filled with love for his people, and he knew he had to do something to help them. He was strong and clever, and most importantly, he cared deeply about making life better for everyone in his village.
