Momotaro: The Peach Boy

Once upon a time, in a peaceful Japanese village, there lived an elderly couple who loved each other very much. Their little house had a thatched roof that looked like golden straw, and cherry blossom trees grew all around. The old man would tend his small garden every morning, and the old woman would sweep their wooden floors until they shined. They had been married for many, many years, and though they were happy together, there was one thing that made them a little sad. They had always wished for a child to love and care for. Every evening, they would sit together and watch the sunset, dreaming of the pitter-patter of little feet in their home.
