Pollyanna and the Glad Game

Once upon a time, in a small American town, there lived a little girl named Pollyanna Whittier. She had golden hair that shone like sunshine and eyes as blue as the summer sky. Pollyanna lived with her dear father, who was a minister in their little church. Every day, her father would tell her stories about finding good things, even when times were hard. But one sad day, Pollyanna's father became very sick and went to heaven to be with the angels. Pollyanna felt so lonely and scared. She stood by her father's favorite chair, holding his old Bible close to her heart. 'I'll remember everything you taught me, Papa,' she whispered. 'I'll try to find the good, just like you said.' Even though her heart was heavy with sadness, Pollyanna knew her father would want her to be brave. She packed her few belongings in a small suitcase and said goodbye to the only home she had ever known.
