The Coyote and the Stars
Long, long ago, when the world was still young and the night sky was empty and dark, there lived a wise woman called First Woman. She had long black hair that shimmered with silver streaks like starlight, and her eyes were as deep and knowing as the night sky itself. First Woman had a very special job - she was creating the stars. One by one, she carefully placed each bright star in the sky, arranging them in perfect patterns and pictures. She worked slowly and thoughtfully, because she knew that each star needed to be placed just right. The stars twinkled and sparkled as she set them in their places, creating beautiful designs across the darkness. First Woman smiled as she worked, knowing that her careful planning would create something wonderful for all the world to see.
