The Emperor New Clothes — scene 1

Once upon a time, in a beautiful kingdom in Denmark, there lived an emperor who loved clothes more than anything else in the whole world. Every morning, he would stand before his enormous golden mirrors, admiring himself in his magnificent robes. His closets were filled with hundreds of coats, thousands of shirts, and countless pairs of shoes in every color you could imagine. The emperor would spend hours choosing what to wear, turning this way and that, making sure every button sparkled and every thread was perfect. He loved the way the silk felt against his skin and how the jewels on his crown caught the sunlight. But most of all, he loved how everyone would gasp and say how wonderful he looked. The emperor smiled at his reflection, thinking he was the most beautiful sight in all the land.
