The Frog King — scene 1

Once upon a time, in a beautiful kingdom in Germany, there lived a kind princess who loved to play by an old stone well in the royal garden. The well was very deep and very old, surrounded by smooth stones that sparkled in the sunlight. Every day, the princess would come to this special place with her most treasured possession - a golden ball that shone like the sun itself. She would toss it high into the air and catch it, laughing with joy as it glittered and gleamed. The golden ball was so beautiful that it seemed to hold all the sunshine of the world inside it. But on this particular day, something magical was about to happen. As the princess played, she did not notice a small green frog sitting quietly on the edge of the well, watching her with wise, patient eyes. The frog had been waiting there for a very long time, hoping that someone kind would come along. Little did the princess know that this was no ordinary frog, but someone very special indeed, waiting for the right moment to ask for help.
