The Gingerbread Man

Once upon a time, in a cozy little kitchen, an old woman was baking something very special. The oven was warm and toasty, and it smelled like cinnamon and sugar. She mixed flour and butter and sweet molasses together. Then she rolled out the dough and cut out the shape of a little man. She gave him raisin eyes that sparkled, and a big icing smile. She put gumdrop buttons down his front - red and green and yellow ones that looked like tiny jewels. The old woman placed the little gingerbread man carefully on a baking tray and slid him into the warm oven. The kitchen filled with the most wonderful smell as he baked, turning golden brown and perfect.
