The Kind Helper with the Funny Name — scene 1

Once upon a time, in a little village by a babbling brook, there lived a miller who worked very hard every day. The miller had a daughter who was the kindest, most honest young woman you could ever meet. She had soft brown hair in a neat braid and the most gentle blue eyes. One day, the miller was feeling very proud of his daughter. He loved her so much that he wanted everyone to know how special she was. But sometimes, when we love someone very much, we might say things that are not quite true. The miller began to tell his neighbors, I have the most amazing daughter! She can spin straw into real gold! The miller daughter heard her father words and felt worried in her heart. She knew she could not really spin straw into gold - that was impossible! But her father had already told everyone, and the words had flown away like birds in the wind.
