The Little Mermaid

Once upon a time, far beneath the sparkling blue sea, there lived a little mermaid in the most beautiful underwater kingdom you could ever imagine. Her home was a magnificent coral palace with towers that reached up toward the surface like pink and orange flowers. The walls sparkled with pearls and shells, and colorful fish swam through the gardens like living rainbows. The little mermaid had flowing red hair that danced in the water like silk ribbons, and a shimmering turquoise tail that caught the light like precious jewels. She loved her underwater home, but sometimes she would swim to her favorite window and look up, up, up toward the surface of the sea. What could be up there in that mysterious world above? The little mermaid's heart was full of wonder and dreams.
