The Magic Paintbrush

Once upon a time, in a small village in China, there lived a little boy named Ma Liang. Ma Liang loved to draw more than anything else in the whole world. But Ma Liang was very poor. His family had no money for paintbrushes or paper or paints. Every day, Ma Liang would look at the beautiful paintings in the market and wish he could make pictures too. His eyes would sparkle with dreams of creating wonderful art. But all he could do was look and wish and dream. Ma Liang felt sad that he could not draw the beautiful pictures that filled his heart.
