The Prince and the Pauper — scene 1

Once upon a time, in a beautiful palace with tall towers and golden gates, there lived a young prince named Edward. Prince Edward had everything a little boy could want - soft beds with silk sheets, delicious food served on golden plates, and beautiful clothes made of the finest velvet. Every morning, servants would help him dress in his royal blue tunic with shining golden buttons. He wore a small crown that sparkled in the sunlight, and his room was filled with wonderful toys and books. Prince Edward was kind and curious, but he had never seen what life was like outside his palace walls. He spent his days learning to be a good king someday, playing in the royal gardens, and wondering about the world beyond the palace gates.
