The Shepherd Star
Once upon a time, high in the beautiful Basque mountains, there lived a shepherd who loved his sheep more than anything in the world. Every morning, as the sun painted the mountain peaks golden, the Faithful Shepherd would wake up early and walk among his flock. He knew each sheep by the sound of their bleating, by the way they walked, and by the special markings on their woolly coats. The mountain air was crisp and clean, filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers and pine trees. The shepherd would count his sheep carefully, making sure each one was healthy and happy. His brown eyes sparkled with kindness as he watched them graze on the soft green grass. The sheep trusted him completely, following wherever he led them to find the best pastures. In his weathered hands, he carried a strong wooden staff carved with ancient Basque symbols that his grandfather had given him. The shepherd felt peaceful and content, knowing that caring for his flock was the most important work he could do.
