The Shoemaker and the Elves
Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a kind shoemaker. Every day, he worked in his little shop, carefully making shoes with his gentle hands. He loved his work very much, but times were hard. Even though he worked from morning until night, he had very little money. The shoemaker never complained, though. He would hum quietly while he worked, stitching leather with care and love. His shop was small but tidy, with tools hanging neatly on the walls and scraps of leather organized in little piles. When customers came to buy shoes, he always smiled warmly and made sure their shoes fit just right. But fewer and fewer people came to his shop these days, and the shoemaker worried about how he would buy food and pay for his little home above the shop.
