The Tortoise and the Hare
Ages 4–5 9 min
Once upon a time, in a beautiful ancient Greek meadow filled with wildflowers and olive trees, there lived a very fast hare. This hare was so proud of how quickly he could run! Every morning, he would hop around the meadow, showing off his speed to anyone who would watch. Look at me! he would call out to the butterflies and birds. I am the fastest animal in all the forest! No one can run as fast as I can! The hare would zoom back and forth, his brown fur gleaming in the sunlight, his long ears bouncing as he raced. He loved to hear the other animals gasp in amazement at his incredible speed. The hare felt so special and important, believing that being fast made him better than everyone else.
