The Tortoise and the Hare

Once upon a time, in a beautiful green forest, there lived a very fast hare named Speedy. Speedy had long, strong legs that could hop faster than the wind. He was so proud of how fast he could run! One sunny morning, Speedy gathered all the forest animals around him in a clearing. The rabbits, squirrels, and birds all came to listen. Speedy puffed out his chest and said in a loud, boastful voice, I am the fastest animal in this whole forest! No one can run as fast as me! He hopped back and forth, showing off his quick jumps. Look how fast I am! he called out. The other animals watched as Speedy zoomed around the clearing like lightning. He was very fast indeed, but he was also very proud of himself.
