The Tortoise and the Hare — scene 1

Once upon a time, in a beautiful green forest, all the animals gathered in a sunny clearing. The squirrels chattered excitedly in the oak trees, the rabbits thumped their feet with anticipation, and the wise old owl hooted from his favorite branch. Today was a very special day - there was going to be a great race! In the middle of the clearing stood two very different friends: Steady Tortoise, with his magnificent emerald green shell that sparkled in the sunlight, and Speedy Hare, whose brown fur gleamed as he bounced from paw to paw. The forest animals had never seen such an unusual pair agree to race each other. Steady Tortoise looked calm and peaceful, his patient brown eyes twinkling with quiet confidence. Speedy Hare could barely sit still, his long ears twitching with excitement and his powerful legs ready to spring into action. All around them, the forest buzzed with whispers and wonder. What an amazing race this would be!
