The Twelve Dancing Princesses

Once upon a time, in a beautiful German palace, there lived a kind king who had twelve lovely daughters. These princesses were sisters who loved each other very much. Every morning, the king would walk to their bedroom to say good morning. But something very strange was happening! Each day, he found their dancing shoes completely worn out, as if they had been dancing all night long. The leather was scuffed, the ribbons were frayed, and the soles were thin from so much dancing. How could this be? The princesses were locked in their room each night, and the door was guarded. The king scratched his head and wondered, Where could my daughters be dancing?
