The Wonderful Adventures of Nils

Once upon a time, in a beautiful Swedish farm, there lived a boy named Nils Holgersson. But Nils was not a kind boy. He was lazy and mean to all the farm animals. When the chickens came looking for food, Nils would chase them away with a stick. When the cows needed water, Nils would ignore them. He pulled the cats tails and threw stones at the dogs. The poor animals were sad and scared of Nils. They wished he would be kind to them, but Nils only laughed when they ran away. He thought it was funny to be mean. But sometimes, when we are not kind to others, something happens to teach us a lesson.
