Why the Warthog Goes on His Knees — scene 1

Once upon a time, in the beautiful lands of East Africa, there lived a warthog who was very, very proud. His name was Warthog, and he had small tusks that gleamed in the sunlight and coarse brown fur that he kept perfectly groomed. Every morning, Warthog would wake up and look at himself in the clear water of the river. He would puff out his chest and hold his head high, thinking he was the most magnificent animal in all the land. The other animals would gather around the watering hole, but Warthog always made sure everyone could see how important he was. He wore his finest earth-colored tunic with beautiful golden patterns, and he carried a special wooden staff with carved symbols that showed his pride. Warthog believed he was better than all the other animals, and he wanted everyone to know it.
